Course Description:

We will briefly review the core foundations of clinical biofeedback, then apply these to a pediatric population. We will address specifics of patient interaction, sensor placements, choice of physiological modality, choice of feedback, data interpretation, and skill building between sessions. We will also address current issues related to data interpretation for clinical efficacy, building and evaluating clinical protocols, and gaps in clinical research.

Learning Objectives:
Professionals who complete this webinar will be able to:

  • Explain biofeedback to a child aged 8-18.
  • Determine an appropriate modality and training goal for a child.
  • List common artifacts in data when working with children.
  • List current gaps in clinical research on biofeedback with children.

Level: Introductory

Content is designed for psychologists who may have little to no background in a specialized skill or content area.  Through this level of programming, the learner can become acquainted with the theoretical underpinnings, principles, methods, and perspectives of a content area. An introductory level program also may serve as the foundation for subsequent intermediate and advanced learning. Introductory level programming may also be related to an emerging area of knowledge or practice. Although this content can be used as a foundation for more advanced learning, an introductory level program may simply focus on breadth, enrichment or general knowledge.

Who Should Attend: Clinicians with basic exposure to biofeedback who would like understand how to apply this technology when working with children.

CE Credits: 1.0 credits
