AAPB Blog Contributors NEEDED!!!!
If you have visited the AAPB site recently you probably saw the request from president Rich Sherman to contribute a blog. When I saw the request three things went through my mind…1. What is a blog??, 2. I’ll probably get criticized for what I write and 3. Write one every month…just what I need, another thing to keep up with. I can tell you none of the above are true. I went to the site http://exampleofablog.com/ and found examples of blogs. All you need do is ask yourself one question…..is there something I do in my work that is done on a regular basis that I can write a diary about…that’s all there is to it! Plus it’s only 300 words….a paragraph! It’s very easy to continue a story every month. For example, if you are a clinician is there a group of patients you use biofeedback with that you could write a story. If you teach you could explain the biofeedback procedure you are teaching about. The most important step is to just start writing! Once you get over the initial hesitation you will find you are exceeding the 300 words. If you can write like you are writing a letter to someone you can write a great blog. And I guarantee no one is going to ridicule what you have written. This is a great opportunity for the public to read about what biofeedback really is…not some news clip that always seems to miss the point. Go ahead, give it a try! - Jeff Bolek, Past AAPB President.
