Whether you’re about to dive into the exciting world of QEEG and brain mapping or trying to enhance existing skills with database-guided neurofeedback, this 4-day workshop will unlock the mysteries of how morphology of RAW EEG converts into color-coded normative brain maps that provide clinically relevant insights. Our team of highly qualified and experienced instructors will cover everything from the basics of how databases are developed to the subtle skill set needed to identify and address underlying neuronal dysregulation.
This course is planned to provide the accredited 48 hours for BCIA didactic. It will cover instrumentation and train on state of the art equipment. It is a 4-day 30.5 hour F2F course with 18 hours of self-paced pre-course learning. It is highly recommended that the 18 hours are taken within the 30 days prior to the F2F instruction. The full course covers treatment protocols, history of biofeedback and operant conditioning, ethical considerations and basic psychophysiology science. This course is essential training for anyone who wishes to incorporate applied psychophysiology into his or her practice.

EEG Biofeedback has radically expanded over the past 10 years. As a result the list of treatment options can seem overwhelming. Amidst the clamor of competing ideologies, manufacturers and treatment modalities, it is the responsibility of the advanced EEG biofeedback clinician to create a treatment approach that is effective and engaging for the trainee/patient/client. This class moves beyond the introduction to basic EEG feedback modalities and equipment, and into an overview of the state of the art of EEG, and the subsequent options and complex treatment decisions that are necessary in operating competently in the modern Neurofeedback climate.
This one-day course will provide a mechanism for acquiring understanding of the visual EEG as it reflects basic brain function/dysfunction. This includes review of multichannel EEGs, evaluating and reducing artifacts and using the EEG and some simple spectral processing to develop neurofeedback protocols or propose medication matches… and to show that the source of the quantitative features is actually the raw waveform’s morphology, which is how the QEEG is actually validated: Against the classical raw EEG, which remains the gold standard.
Neurofeedback for Beginners
This workshop is an in-depth clinical guide to the many advances in the diagnosis and management of migraine, cluster headache, tension-type headache and their many variants. The workshop will first provide the participants with a thorough overview of the diagnosis of the different primary headache disorders. It will then explore the pathophysiology of the different disorders integrating neurochemical, physiological, behavioral, and psychological perspectives. Pharmacologic, psychophysiological, and behavioral treatment alternatives will be reviewed in relation to both clinical efficacy and underlying pain mechanisms. The workshop will help the biofeedback therapist understand the basics of successful headache diagnosis and treatment and better communicate with the medical community. Behavioral and psychophysiological protocols will be thoroughly discussed. This workshop will also review clinical studies on paradoxical effects of medication overuse in relation to treatment outcome. Chronic migraine will be thoroughly examined including the transformation process from episodic to chronic headache. Issues of psychiatric co-morbidity will be explored.

This 3-day course provides the foundation for understanding the importance of QEEG analysis of multi- channel EEG recordings including amplitude, power, relative power, coherence and LORETA (Low Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography) analysis for understanding basic brain function. This includes performing a relatively clean recording, providing hands-on practicums with state of the art equipment. It will demonstrate best practice for analysis, evaluation and reduction of artifacts and then finally using the data to develop neurofeedback protocols. This course will also discuss pertinent clinical and research findings and is accredited by the QEEG Certification Board as a didactic for certification applicants.
This 2-day course will provide a foundation for understanding the importance of de-artifacting and montage on outcomes, including the evaluation of drowsiness/vigilance for understanding basic brain function. This includes the impact of current modeling approaches such as phenotypes and vigilance modeling, and also the impact of these models on medication selection in psychiatry
